Long-term studies tracking the effects of technology on students’ motivation and academic achievement could provide more comprehensive insights.

What was confusing or hard to understand: One potential challenge with this reading, especially for those not familiar with Self-Determination Theory, is the theoretical framework itself. The concepts of autonomy, competence, and relatedness might be initially confusing for readers new to this area of psychology. However, the authors do provide explanations and examples to help clarify these concepts within the context of the study.

Overall, this reading provides a solid foundation for understanding the relationship between technology and motivation in education, offering valuable insights for educators and instructional designers aiming to create technology-enhanced learning experiences that promote students’ intrinsic motivation and learning outcomes.
