The Saharan dust storm reached the United States and the dust cloud reached down to the surface of the Earth, which caused many issues from Africa, the Gulf coast of the United States, the Caribbean, and South America.
The health concerns associated with dust storms are breathing in the tiny particles from the dust, known as particulate matter (PM).
