The following is a case study about a design company:
You are a senior network administrator for a networking solutions firm. Years ago, you installed a small local area network (LAN) at a design company. It is growing fast and needs your networking solutions firm to upgrade its network. You assigned Liz to the job. That afternoon, while preparing to work on a lab assignment from her class in routing, Liz mentions that she would use both wireless technology and protocols and virtualization technology to conceptualize and implement different wireless and virtualization models of implementation, as follows:
- Wireless solution: 802.11 Wireless, WLAN, WEP/WPA, Wi-Fi, and 6LoWPAN
- Virtualization solution (3 types): Device virtualization, path isolation, or service virtualization
Answer the following:
- Explain to Liz the specifics of each solution, and then recommend what solution would be the best choice. Provide examples and diagrams to clarify your points for each model.
- Discuss how she may use at least 2 of the wireless solutions/models in an integrated end-to-end network wireless solution, and at least 1 of the virtualization solutions in her integrated end-to-end wired solution.
