2.Self Assessment Discussion Reply 2 Pricilla:
In the beginning of the course, I conducted a self-assessment to help me learn about my personal leadership style. After completing the questionnaire and analyzing my results, my personal leadership style was team leadership. I think my predominant leadership style will help me in the future by helping me to work well with others and perform well on tasks. Also, it can help me to encourage the members of the team to accomplish a task that will create a desired result, and it will help me to strengthen the bonds or relationships between each member. As a team leader, I am a role model, so I would need to be aware and behave or act in a way that is appropriate. According to Buchbinder and Shanks (2017), “Leaders need to set a vision or direction for the organization. They need to be able to motivate their employees, as well as other stakeholders, so the business continues to exist and, hopefully, thrive in periods of change” (p. 25).
Other skills that I feel I will need to work on are discipline and being task oriented from an authoritarian leadership style. Knowing how to discipline myself is important because it helps me to be more responsible and gives me the ability to never give up. Sometimes I would have a hard time disciplining myself because of my lack of motivation to do something. If I do not know how to discipline myself, I would not know how to discipline others, which is important for someone who is an authoritarian leader. Furthermore, being task oriented is important because it can help me to be more devoted when completing any tasks so that I can be sure to meet the deadline.
